• Main fabric: 1 1/8 yard (at least 45 inches wide) in broadcloth, calico, chambray, corduroy, denim, poplin or light to medium-weight wool
• Contrasting lining fabric: 1/4 yard in cotton
• 1 yard lightweight fusible interfacing
• 1/8 yard 1/2″ extra-wide double-fold bias tape, twill tape or ribbon (used to make tie keeper on the back)
• All-purpose thread to match your fabric
• Embroidery floss to match or contrast tie keeper
• Scissors, either new or used only on fabric
• Disappearing ink pen or tailor's chalk (contrast to fabric)
• Pins
• Pincushion
• Seam ripper
